Accounting › Outsourced
Your whole finance function — run, without the hire.
Included in monthly bookkeeping: $550–$1,800/mo
Bookkeeping, the monthly close, reporting, AP/AR, and payroll recording, handled end to end and reviewed before delivery. An in-house team's coverage without the payroll — no recruiting, no management.
Reviewed before delivery: reports go out only after the accounts behind them agree with their statements and every open question is listed for you. What the review checks.
Fixed monthly fee. We're not a CPA firm — we work alongside yours.
Quick answer
Outsource when the finance work has outgrown one bookkeeper but doesn't yet justify a full-time controller or accountant. A fixed monthly fee then buys the close, reporting, payables, receivables and payroll coordination as one routine, while the QuickBooks file, the bank logins and the final decisions stay with you.
Included in monthly bookkeeping ($550–$1,800 a month); your exact fee is scoped in writing. Payables, receivables and payroll coordination are priced inside the same monthly scope. What the published range includes.
Outsourced vs in-house
The same function — without the headcount math.
What changes when you hand the finance function to a firm instead of putting it on payroll.
| An in-house hire | Outsourced to Everholt & Co. |
|---|---|
| Recruit, train, manage, and replace one person | A ready-made function with review before delivery — no recruiting or managing. |
| A single point of failure when they're out or leave | A defined process and a review before delivery — not one person's memory. |
| A loaded salary, benefits, and overhead | A fixed monthly fee, scoped in writing — set it against the all-in cost of a hire in the worksheet on this page. |
| Whatever expertise you can afford full-time | A close that passes a documented review before delivery |
Need a review layer over an existing bookkeeper rather than the whole function? See part-time controller oversight.

Figure data as a table
| How much finance work is there? | Then | Why |
|---|---|---|
| One bookkeeper keeps up | Monthly bookkeeping | $550–$1,800 a month |
| Outgrown one bookkeeper | Outsourced accounting | Close, reporting, payables, receivables, payroll coordination: one monthly fee |
| Kept, but unreviewed | Fractional controller | $2,500–$5,000 a month |
| A full-time seat's worth | An in-house hire | The trade-offs are on the in-house vs outsourced page |
The all-in number
Work out what outsourcing costs you, not just the fee.
A monthly fee is the visible part. Add any one-time cleanup before the monthly work starts, anything scoped as an add-on, and the time you still spend answering questions and reading reports.
Working template — fill in your own figures. Not client data.
How the worksheet adds it up. The fields start empty and take only your figures; a blank field counts as zero.
- All-in, per month = the monthly fee, plus any add-ons priced separately, plus your own hours a month multiplied by your hourly value.
- First year = the all-in monthly figure multiplied by 12, plus any one-time cleanup or catch-up the provider requires before the monthly work begins.
- Each year after = the all-in monthly figure multiplied by 12.
- Our own published monthly range is on the pricing page; the fee for your books is written into the scope once the free review is done.
- Comparing against a hire? The in-house seat worksheet prices the other side. This one runs in your browser and sends nothing.
